Comparatives & superlatives
Para comparar coisas, o inglês tem duas estratégias: palavras curtas ganham -er e -est (bigger, the biggest); palavras longas usam more e the most (more interesting, the most interesting).

01Comparativo: mais ... do que

| big, hot | consoante-vogal-consoante: dobra | bigger, hotter |
| happy, easy | termina em -y: y → ier | happier, easier |

My brother is taller than me.
Meu irmão é mais alto que eu.
English is easier than Chinese.
Inglês é mais fácil que chinês.
This phone is more expensive than that one.
Este celular é mais caro que aquele.

Palavras curtas não usam "more".

Para igualdade, use (tão ... quanto):
I'm as tall as my father.
